Helen Maniates is an Assistant Professor of Teacher Education at the University of San Francisco. She has been an educational consultant, content expert, and teacher trainer for over 20 years. Most recently, she worked with the San Francisco Unified School District as a project consultant with the PK3 Project which seeks to align and integrate instructional, support and family services between preschools and elementary schools to facilitate leadership meetings and to provide support to incubator sites. She holds a PhD in Language, Literacy, and Culture from UC Berkeley, an MA in Education from Sonoma State University, and a BA in Art Education from the University of Wisconsin.
