Stanford researchers developed a program that sends text messages to parents to help them prepare their kids for kindergarten.
The program, Ready4K!, sent three texts to parents per week over the course of 8 months. The texts contained facts and tips about certain early literacy skills.
The early run of the program showed that children of parents who received the texts had an extra 2-3 months of learning when they entered kindergarten. Stanford doctoral student Ben York says the project is now ready to be shared with a wider audience.
