Dean Deborah Stipek announced in an email to the Graduate School of Education that Bryan Brown and Thomas Dee will serve as new associate deans.
Dear friends:
Many of you know that Eamonn Callan and Chiqui Ramirez are stepping down this summer from their Associate Deans’ positions. By my calculations, Eamonn has served the School for 11 years in this role, and Chiqui for five years. Later I will have a great deal to say about how much they have contributed to the School and how much I have relied on their good judgment, conscientiousness, and friendship over the years.
Today I want to share the good news that Bryan Brown has agreed to serve as the new Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Tom Dee will serve as Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs. We are very fortunate to have two fabulous colleagues willing to take on these administrative responsibilities. To ensure a smooth transition, both will attend some of the deans’ meetings this spring and overlap with Chiqui and Eamonn over the summer.
I am very much looking forward to working closely with Bryan and Tom and I know the new dean will be grateful to have two great people to support him or her through the dean’s transition and beyond.
