Angela Johnson

Angela Johnson was a doctoral candidate in Educational Policy and Economics of Education. She is an Institute of Education Sciences (IES) fellow and a recipient of the 2018 Stanford Diversity Dissertation Research Opportunity award. Her dissertation focuses on English Learners’ access to secondary and postsecondary education opportunities. Her research interests also include literacy and teacher professional development. She earned a BA/MA in Economics in 2008 and an MS TESOL in 2010 from the University of Southern California. Prior to Stanford, she taught English as a Second Language and Media Literacy for nine years in Los Angeles and Japan.
