Jamie Johnston

Current Position: 

Postdoctoral Fellow, Stanford University School of Medicine

Jamie Johnston completed her PhD in Economics of Education and International Comparative Education at the Stanford Graduate School of Education in 2017, where she was affiliated with the Center for Education Policy Analysis and an Institute of Education Sciences (IES) doctoral fellow. Jamie’s research focuses on the use of technology to improve educational access and instructional quality in under-resourced areas. Using experimental methods, her dissertation analyzed the effectiveness of online and distance learning interventions in Mongolia and Ghana. Jamie is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Stanford University School of Medicine, where she leads evaluation and research for the Digital Medical Education International Collaborative, which aims to improve global health outcomes through the provision of digital healthcare training. She is also an affiliated researcher with Innovations for Poverty Action and a Fulbright fellowship recipient. Jamie received a B.S. in Social Policy from Northwestern University, an M.P.P from the University of Chicago, and an M.A. in Economics from Stanford University.
